All students must take the CompTia Security+ Certification Exam within 14 days of completion to graduate.
Everyone must take the Fundamentals course or show proof they have taken the course before enrolling in this in-person vocational training program.

What you should know about IT Security
IT Security, or Information Technology Security, is like the digital version of a security guard for your computer, network, and data. Its job is to protect all things tech from unauthorized access, cyberattacks, and other digital dangers that could steal or damage important information. Think of it as setting up a high-tech alarm system for your data, making sure only the right people can get in while keeping intruders out.
What should you know before taking this course?
Basic Computer Skills: You should be comfortable using a computer, navigating the operating system, and using common software like web browsers or word processors.
Understanding of Networking: Knowing the basics of how computers connect to each other will help a lot. Terms like IP address, firewall, and router should not be completely foreign to you.
Basic IT Fundamentals: As mentioned before, having a solid understanding of IT basics can help you grasp advanced topics much more easily.
General Understanding of the Internet: You’ll need to know how the internet works on a basic level—how data travels, what servers are, and so on.
Critical Thinking: Cybersecurity often involves thinking like an attacker to understand how to defend against them. Problem-solving skills are a must.
Willingness to Stay Updated: The world of IT Security is always evolving with new threats appearing all the time. You have to be committed to continually updating your knowledge.
Ethical Guidelines: Understanding the ethical and legal aspects of IT Security is crucial, as you’ll be trusted with sensitive information.
